The Steinberg Systems paint thickness gauge is an essential tool in the automotive trade as well as in the metal and chemical industries. The tester measures the paint coating on both ferromagnetic and non-magnetic materials. Measurement accuracy is ±2% + 1 μm. LCD display with backlight. Results can be stored in memory for up to 2000 readings. The measurement range is 0–2000 μm. The paint thickness gauge operates in two modes: with ferromagnetic materials using magnetic induction, and with other materials using eddy currents. The minimum measurement area is Ø20 mm. The minimum radius of curvature for convex surfaces is 5 mm, and for concave surfaces 25 mm. The entire set is contained in a carrying case. A USB cable is all that is needed to connect the device to a computer. Powered by 2 x AAA batteries. The device provides reliable results within a temperature range of 0 ~ 50°C and humidity between 20 and 90%.
