The decibel meter is a digital meter that allows you to check whether your immediate surroundings, office, or street are too loud. The device is designed for people conducting various types of evidence-based noise tests. The device’s accuracy is due to 4 measurement ranges from 30 to 130 dB with an accuracy of 1.4 dB (Lo: 30 dB–80 dB, Med: 50 dB–100 dB, Hi: 80 dB–130 dB, Auto: 30 dB–130 dB). You can also choose between 2 measurement times: fast (125 ms) and slow (1 s). The SBS-SM-130C meter fully complies with the EC61672 Class 2 Standard, provides maximum and minimum sound level readings, and stores up to 262,100 measurements in memory.
The LCD display with an analog bar graph allows for easy viewing of rapidly changing sound levels. Quick and simple analysis and noise level verification are essential when working with a decibel meter. The device can be easily mounted on a tripod and taken with you into the field. A USB cable allows you to export readings to a computer for archiving and reporting, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack lets you connect the meter to an FFT analyzer, an FFT analyzer, or other measurement equipment.
The windshield mounted on the sound level meter reduces the impact of wind and air movement on the microphone, protects it from damage, and prevents dust and other debris from entering. This Steinberg Systems product features a built-in sound level alarm, a screw-on battery compartment cover, and an auto-off feature that conserves battery life. The sound level meter allows for noise measurement both indoors and in offices (Type A filter), as well as for sound generated by machines (Type C filter).
